Ok, so the easiest way to explain this is actually quite easy. Let’s be honest a lot of people not all but i large majority do, think that epilepsy is just the stereotypical drop and shake. People may deny that’s all they think when infact yes they do.
When i named this page “See Through My Eyes” is because what you may see if you’ve ever witnessed a absence or full blown seizure. From what you see compared to the final result are completely different. Here’s an example, I fell walking to the shops with my mum. Now i’m 6ft 5 and i has a seizure fell forwards face first into concrete on a petrol station forecourt.
I ended up fracturing my right cheekbone, after i came back around wondering why am i on my side? Few minutes later i’m taking a selfie in the back of an ambulance. Even though my face was all messed up i couldn’t actually feel it.
Yes that was me who took the picture, but when I’ve had absence seizures which last 5 seconds to 5 minutes or as my mum and dad describe “away with the fairies” they’ve said i can be holding a conversation have a couple and still carry on the conversation. After some absences I’ve felt drained and end up falling asleep. The repercussion of even one so small can have a big impact.
I’ve had people say oh it can’t be that bad but this is exactly my point, Since they don’t know exactly how it feels , it’s impossible to judge the repercussions because you have no idea how they effect them
