It Only Gets Worse If You’re Living In The Past!

Thank you for being here today. I want to talk about something that affects all of us in different ways which is no-ones fault it happens to the best of us: the past. Many of us carry memories, both good and bad, from our past. And while memories are a part of life, there’s a problem we all face when we start living in the past rather than learning From it.

You see, it only gets worse if you keep looking backward. Imagine trying to walk forward while staring behind you. You’re bound to trip, stumble, and fall. The same thing happens in life. When we hold on too tightly to things that have already happened, we stop paying attention to what’s happening now. And the worst part is that we start feeling stuck—like no matter what we do, things never seem to get better.

Think about it. We’ve all made mistakes or gone through difficult times. But if you let those moments define you, you stop yourself from moving forward. You get trapped in old hurts, regrets, or even missed opportunities. It’s like trying to swim while holding onto a heavy rock—you’ll sink instead of float.

I know it’s not easy. Sometimes, the pain or disappointment from the past feels like it’s too much to let go of. But ask yourself: How is holding onto it helping you today? Is it making you happier? Stronger? Most likely, it’s just weighing you down.

Life is always moving forward. Each new day is a chance to start fresh, to make better choices, and to grow. But that can only happen if you let go of the past. It’s not about forgetting what happened. It’s about learning from it and deciding not to let it control your future.

The truth is, we can’t change what’s already been done. We can only control how we respond to it today. If we keep focusing on past mistakes, we miss the new opportunities right in front of us. And worse, we let fear and regret stop us from becoming who we really want to be.

So my message today is simple: Don’t live in the past. You deserve more than that. You deserve to be free from those chains. Choose to focus on the present, on the things you can change, and watch how much lighter and happier life becomes.
