The way i would describe as get by is just as simple as, i don’t take anything seriously. I know there are a lot of people with epilepsy who struggle coping. Well I’m going to try help change your perspective. The reason i always joke about myself, is as simple as i don’t give the people who is trying or was trying to bully me.

I just beat him to the punch line or just laughed at the joke they said. I’m going to tell you one of the jokes this guy said to me and i’ll write my response, the only reason I’m going to tell you is so your get a better understanding of how my brain works and how i get through it.

The guy said “Aaron if you went to a nightclub and you looked at the laser lights would you just start spazzing on the floor” so i just responded “Well look on the upside I’d be the best dance there” …….I focus on life like a comedy script. I just joke about everything. I’m always sarcastic with everything.

My Mum takes the mick out of me but that’s the sort of family relationship we have. I get all my family to do it. Honestly that actually helps me. Just realising that beating someone to the punchline and making a joke about yourself just helps me move forwards …..Here’s another example

I have naturally pale skin and like I’ve said in the past. The stereotypical epilepsy is shaking so i got my mates and my girlfriend to nickname me “Milkshake” I mean come on guys think about it. I’m literally just making a epilepsy joke directed at myself, yes my mates used to find it awkward at first because they didn’t want to offend me.

I just laugh and if my best mates or family or girlfriend make a epilepsy joke i just laugh. Then it doesn’t give the bully an opportunity to make the joke. So my best advice it to litrally just joke about yourself and make everything funny. If you take absolutely nothing seriously then there’s nothing to drag you down.

Well when it comes down to things in life I’m not saying joke about those, what I’m saying is have a laugh in life and it helps me and i never feel down at all no matter what mood I’m in.
